I would like to request a desk or examination copy of the textbook, how do I do that?
You can either request a print or digital desk or examination copy:
Request a digital desk and exam copy (for teachers): Click on Faculty Sampling in the upper right corner and search for the book.
Request a print desk and exam copy (for teachers): Be sure to have the book’s ISBN, which you can get from the book’s webpage on press.georgetown.edu. Be sure to use the ISBN for the teacher’s edition, if one exists.
Is there a companion website for my textbook?
Not all textbooks have companion websites. To find out, choose your language and then read more about your textbook or go to the Product Guide and choose your textbook.
What are the companion websites and what features do the companion websites offer to students and instructors?
The companion websites offer a fully integrated set of interactive exercises with all multimedia materials and additional online course management and grading options for teachers.
Many of the exercises have instant feedback for students, including multiple choice, drag and drop, typing response, listening, and recording activities, while others require teacher grading and input. The platform gives the instructors the ability to set deadlines, assign activities, and manually grade activities, monitor student and class progress, and create their own class activities and to share with students. For more information, see Companion Websites.
Are the companion websites free?
The companion websites are free for instructors to use. Students pay for access for a specified period of time. An access code is provided with each purchase of a new textbook. If students purchase a used textbook or use one from the library, they may purchase an access code separately from the publisher’s website. For pricing and additional information, please visit press.georgetown.edu.
What is the access term for students and instructors?
The access term for instructors does not end.
Students purchase access to their companion website for 18 months. At the end of that period of time, they must purchase access for another term, if they wish to continue using the site.
Can I review the companion website before I adopt it?
Yes! You can either see a sample chapter or request access to the complete set of activities. Please visit our Companion Websites page and make your choice.
What content is included in the companion website that I can review?
If you choose not to request access for the complete set of activities for the companion website, then you will see activities that correspond to a single chapter of the textbook. It is designed to look like a live class. The virtual classroom is populated with fake students to make the experience as realistic as possible for instructors. To see the complete set of exercises on the companion website, request access to the complete companion website. Your request will be processed in 1-2 business days.
I would like to be able to test the functional features of the companion website. Should I review the chapter sample course or request access to the complete companion website?
If you wish to test out the functional features of the companion website, we suggest that you request access to the complete website. You can make your request by following the links from our Companion Websites page. It takes about 1-2 days after you have submitted your access request.
Do I need an instructor code to access the companion website?
No, you do not need a separate instructor’s code. To request access as an instructor, please use the appropriate button on the Companion Website access page. For more information about how to set up your course, please visit the “For Teachers” page under Companion Websites.
